She will also take audience questions as time permits.\n\nEarlier this year\, Shannon was appointed City Manager for the City of Cypress\, becoming the first woman and 10th City Manager in the City's history. With more than 20 years of executive leadership experience\, she is recognized for her people-first approach to local government and commitment to building strong community relationships.\n\nBefore joining Cypress\, DeLong served as Assistant City Manager and Interim City Manager for the City of Whittier\, where she helped lead major initiatives\, including the Whittier Navigation Center\, the historic Central Library expansion\, the Uptown Senior Center remodel\, and numerous parks and public facilities improvements.\n\nEarlier in her career\, she held several leadership roles with the City of Downey\, serving as Director of the Downey City Library\, Interim Executive Director of the Columbia Memorial Space Center\, and leader of the City's first Innovation Team. She also worked for The Aerospace Corporation and conducted undergraduate research at the UCLA Jules Stein Eye Institute.\n\nShannon DeLong holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from UCLA and an MBA from California State University\, Dominguez Hills.
