As we celebrate our nation's independence this July\, come learn about the covertly classified\, GAMBIT-3 (KH-8) photographic satellite that assisted our nation in winning the Cold War and mitigated the national consequences of pilot Francis Gary Powers' CIA U-2 spy plane being shot down over the Soviet Union in 1960. Veteran Leroy Mills was a graduate of West Point in 1964\, commissioned as Air Force 2d Lt and spent the first 20 years of his career as Active Duty in the Air Force\; while the next 20 years were serving with the Department of Defense. Throughout his tenure\, mostly all of his experience was working with top secret information.
