The Cypress Chamber of Commerce will welcome Orange County Human Resources expert Linda Duffy as our guest speaker at our October Networking Breakfast. The event will be held Tuesday, October 14th at the Residence Inn by Marriott at 4931 Katella Avenue, Cypress/Los Alamitos, starting at 7:30 a.m. Linda Duffy is the President and Founder of Ethos Human Capital, a business that serves clients in a wide variety of industries and sizes. Linda will share a program called “Oops-Proof Your Business: Avoiding the Most Common HR Mistakes.” She will share some commonsense advice she’s developed over 35 years of executive HR experience. Linda is praised by clients and endorsed by employment attorneys and business strategists for helping clients target their exact needs and achieve their goals.

Running a business is tough enough without getting tripped up by avoidable HR and employment law mistakes. In this practical, plain-English session at our networking breakfast, Linda will walk us through some of the most common compliance missteps employers make—like misclassifying workers, overlooking wage and hour rules, and mishandling onboarding or terminations—and how to avoid them. Whether you have one employee or one hundred, this session will help you identify red flags, reduce risk, and build stronger, more compliant people practices that protect your business and, at the same time, support your team.

In addition to her years of experience, Linda Duffy earned an MBA and Sr. Professional in HR credentials and is certified in a variety of notable HR programs. She is an invited speaker at HR conferences and business forums. Her expert insights are showcased in the book ”Roadmap to Success: America’s Top Intellectual Minds Map Out Successful Business Strategies - alongside Deepak Chopra and Dr. Ken Blanchard. Each Chamber breakfast attendee will also have an opportunity to stand to introduce themselves and share a little about their business before the program begins.

Reservations are highly recommended and can be made online. Cost of the breakfast is $25.00. Attendees are encouraged to bring a door prize to help promote their product or service. The program will include time for live networking, self-introductions, a breakfast buffet, as well as our guest speaker.
