2026 July Networking Breakfast

The Cypress Chamber of Commerce will welcome Shannon DeLong, City Manager of the City of Cypress, as our guest speaker at our July Networking Breakfast on July 14th at the Residence Inn by Marriott at 4931 Katella Avenue, Cypress/Los Alamitos, beginning at 7:30 a.m.

At the breakfast event, Shannon will share her municipal leadership background and discuss her vision for keeping Cypress business-friendly, connected, and positioned for success. She will also take audience questions as time permits.

Earlier this year, Shannon was appointed City Manager for the City of Cypress, becoming the first woman and 10th City Manager in the City’s history. With more than 20 years of executive leadership experience, she is recognized for her people-first approach to local government and commitment to building strong community relationships.

Before joining Cypress, DeLong served as Assistant City Manager and Interim City Manager for the City of Whittier, where she helped lead major initiatives, including the Whittier Navigation Center, the historic Central Library expansion, the Uptown Senior Center remodel, and numerous parks and public facilities improvements.

Earlier in her career, she held several leadership roles with the City of Downey, serving as Director of the Downey City Library, Interim Executive Director of the Columbia Memorial Space Center, and leader of the City’s first Innovation Team. She also worked for The Aerospace Corporation and conducted undergraduate research at the UCLA Jules Stein Eye Institute.

Shannon DeLong holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from UCLA and an MBA from California State University, Dominguez Hills. Beyond City Hall, she is also a mother of three who values creating strong, connected communities where families and businesses can thrive.

Each Chamber breakfast attendee will also have an opportunity to stand, introduce themselves, and share about their business before the program begins.

Reservations are highly recommended and can be made online. The cost of breakfast is $25.00, and attendees are encouraged to bring a door prize to promote their product or service. The program includes live networking, self-introductions, a breakfast buffet, and our guest speaker’s presentation.

The Chamber networking breakfasts are open to the public and held on the second Tuesday of every month. Space is limited, so be sure to pre-register on the Chamber website to secure your seat.
